The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) in collaboration with the South African Airways (SAA) has announced a discount in air fares for travel agents attending Tanzania’s Swahili International Tourism Expo (S!TE).

The discount will cover two categories: $ 1,380 for Economy class and $ 5,990 for Premium Business class. The fares include taxes and are valid for travel from New York or Washington, DC (Dulles), to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (via Johannesburg).

S!TE, Tanzania’s first ever International Tourism Expo, developed by Tanzania Tourist Board, will focus on inbound and outbound travel to Africa and is expected to draw hundreds of international tourism and travel professionals, especially from the United States.

“The US is one of Tanzania’s most vital markets and we are pleased that South African Airways has taken the initiative to support the new Swahili International Tourism Expo. The discounted fares provide an excellent opportunity to help TTB attract more American travel agents to participate in this major tourism exposition,” said Dr. Aloyce Nzuki, TTB Managing Director.

The Expo which will be an annual event is expected to take place from October 2 – 5, 2013 at the Mlimani City Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam.

The special fare for travel agents is valid for travel from September 25, with travel being completed by October 9, 2013, and can be booked from now to up to two weeks in advance of S!TE. For more information or to book these special travel agent rates, call South African Airways at (866)359-7227.
